This event will be offered at no cost to family caregivers with opportunities to learn, connect and be supported. Sessions include managing disease progression, emotional support strategies and legal and financial planning.

KEYNOTE SESSION
Addressing COVID-19 and Alzheimer's Risk and Care in All Communities
Presented by: Heather M. Snyder, Ph.D., Vice President, Medical & Scientific Relations, Alzheimer's Association
Dr. Snyder will discuss the recently released Alzheimer's Association Facts & Figures 2021 report, examining perspectives and experiences of Asian, Black, Hispanic, Native and White Americans in regard to Alzheimer's and dementia care. The report also examines the devastating impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on people living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers. The global pandemic of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) has significantly impacted our communities. Dr. Snyder will discuss resources and information for those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementia, as well as will discuss the downstream impact of COVID-19 on the brain. To date, COVID-19 and the brain are not well understood and there remain many unanswered questions of the virus' impact.

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Connecticut Nurses' Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
NOTE: This program has been approved for 7 contact hours, up to 3.5 per day.
Social Work
This program has been approved for Continuing Education Credit Hours by the National Association of Social Workers, CT and meets the continuing education criteria for CT Social Work Licensure renewal. Approval also meets the continuing education criteria for CT LMFTs, LPCs, and licensed psychologists.
NOTE: This program has been approved for 7 CECs, up to 3.5 per day and the Keynote on 4/7/21 and the Plenary on 4/8/21 meet the cultural competence requirement for license renewal.

Application has been approved by LeadingAge Connecticut for 7.00 Credit Hours. LeadingAge Connecticut has been granted authority by the State of Connecticut to issue Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for educational programs that support learning objectives for nursing home administrators.
Throughout the years, the Alzheimer's Association has united experts worldwide to present the latest information in dementia care practices to professionals, family members and persons living with the disease in Connecticut and surrounding states. Our goal is to share best practices and creative interventions for the care, treatment and preservation of the quality of life of persons with Alzheimer's and related dementias. Join us as we reflect on past accomplishments, integrate the present and envision a future of a world without Alzheimer's disease.
